Hi everyone,

Please share this news with anyone you think this will be of interest or benefit to…

Calling Black people of Tower Hamlets passionate about Black history, and interested in helping to bring  the borough’s hidden Black lives and stories from 300 years ago into the open.

We are now recruiting 6 Black people to join the Communities of Liberation project team in April, as paid (part-time) Co-Producers at Tower Hamlets Local History Library and Archives.

The 6 Co-Producers will be working with Sweet Patootee Arts co-founder Tony, in his freelance role as Research & Engagement lead for the Communities of Liberation project.

Details of the role, hours, payment etc, are on the recruitment flyer posted with this message. If you want to download a digital copy of the recruitment flyer here are the links …

By way of application, all we’re asking people to do is send us a compelling email about themselves, why they ‘fit the bill’, and want to be involved. No previous knowledge or experience is necessary. What we want is commitment and passion to tell these stories. Deadline for emails is 5pm, 2nd April.

Communities of Liberation is a historical research and public art project which aims to increase awareness of the long history of the African presence in the borough of Tower Hamlets, by focusing specifically on excavating and sharing stories of individuals who lived in the borough in the 17th and 18th centuries.

Yet again, thank you for your support!
